PB Wiki - I added a favorite vacation spot (Discovery Cove, FL) and a favorite restaurant (Spread Eagle Tavern) to their lists. Tried to link my blog but it wouldn't go through!

Wikis - seems like an interesting way to get information quick. How reliable it will be is anlther story. This doesn't seem like a place I would have my kids go to find information for reports. If anyone can change the articles then why bother!
Libraries could use this as an informational site for patrons to give ideas on what they would like to see in the library so that we can answer them back. Or, people could use it as an open forum to talk about their favorite books. I's sure this could be used in numerous ways but it still doesn't seem like a reliable site to me!

Sorry that these lessons are skipping around. My blog post about something technological that interests me will be about youtube. Even though it has been around for awhile I have not really explored it. My kids love it and it is great for amateur filmmakers or people messing around. There are a lot of funny things on here but sometimes too much technology could not be a good thing!

Our library is like a little boat that I hope does not sink. More and more patrons are coming in to use the computers and they don't even look at the books on our shelves. A lot of our elderly and regular patrons who do check out books always inquire about computer classes. It seems they are "afraid" to just go on a computer and play, they want to be taught. These classes are in big demand but because of staffing and budget, they are not being offered. I hope we don't hit an "iceberg" the next time we ask for money!

Technorati - It's a big blogging world out there and this tool seems to be able to help bloggers find more and more on their topics. This is one tool I will probably never use. I like Library Thing and Rollyo but haven't had time to go back to them to use them...maybe when I'm done with 2.0!

Okay, I just "discovered" del.icio.us and set up a bookmarking site. I used it to bookmark recipes, mostly shrimp ones. Now I just have to find the time to read them all and make some of them!! http://del.icio.us/
